What is Vectoriel?
Vectoriel is a database dedicated to visual communication professionals such as graphic artists, illustrators and photographers. As well as offering all image enthusiasts a chance to access the most extensive community of specialised artists, Vectoriel allows all its members to submit vectors, photos and illustrations and purchase user licenses for illustration of all their personal and professional works (advertising, press, posters, stickers, Web, T-shirts, etc.).
Is registration free?
Yes. Registration on Vectoriel is completely free of charge for everyone.
What are Vecto?
Vecto are the Vectoriel website’s unit of currency.
1 Vecto = 1 Credit = 1€
There are three sorts of Vecto:
• Bought Vecto: These allow you to acquire user licenses for each of the files you wish to download. They are valid for two years starting from their date of purchase.
• Earned Vecto: These are credited to your personal account for each sale you make on the Vectoriel website.
• Free Vecto: Vectoriel may offer you free Vecto. These are valid for one year starting from their date of sending.
Can I change my personal information?
Once you are registered, only certain elements of your personal information can be changed.
The elements which can be changed are: your title, your surname, your postal address, your telephone number, your fax number and your password.
The elements which cannot be changed are: your user name, your member number, your first name, the nature of your account, your company name and identifier and your e-mail address.

I am unable to log in to my account on the Vectoriel website.
If your browser remains on the home page and an error message is displayed, check that the caps lock is not on on your keyboard. Your password is case-sensitive.
If your are redirected to an error page, check also that cookies are set to medium confidentiality level on your computer, delete all cookies and clear your computer’s cache memory.
If the problem persists, check that your Firewall does not block the sending of information.

Can I cancel my registration on Vectoriel?
Yes, you can cancel your registration on the Vectoriel site at any time.
To do so, simply select “My Menu” and “Account Information” in your personal menu.
You can also cancel your registration by notifying your decision to Vectoriel via an e-mail addressed to delete@vectoriel.com, or by registered letter, subject to thirty days’ notice.

How can I become a buyer member?
Simply register free of charge on the Vectoriel website by clicking here.
Can I be an author and a buyer in the same time?
Yes. Once you are registered on the Vectoriel website, you be either an author or a purchaser or both, using the same profile.

How do I purchase on Vectoriel?
To be able to download files submitted on the Vectoriel website, you must create an account for yourself.
Once your registration has been validated, you can credit your account with a minimum amount of 10 Vecto (1 Vecto = 1 Credit = 1 €) from your personal menu by clicking on "My Wallet" and then “Credit”. You can then credit your account by credit card, via Paypal or via Skrill (MoneyBooker).
Once you have carried out this step, you will be able to pay for the visuals you have selected.

Do I have to have specific software to open the files available on Vectoriel?
The files available on Vectoriel require you to have image retouching software on your computer enabling reading and use of EPS files for vector illustrations and/or JPEG files for photos and illustrations.
How can I download a file for which I have just acquired a user license?
On acquisition of a license on the Vectoriel website, you retrieve your file directly from your personal menu. To do this, you must select “My Files” and then “Purchased” and click on “Download” under the visual you wish to retrieve.
Your file can be downloaded for a period of 48 hours after purchase.
Is there a maximum period for downloading a file after payment?
The files for which you have acquired a user license can be downloaded for a period of 48 hours after purchase.
I have not succeeded in downloading a file and my account has been debited. What should I do?
In the event of a download problem you can restart the download for a period of 48 hours after purchase from your personal menu on the Vectoriel website. To do so, you must select my “My files” and then “Bought” and click on “Download” under the visual you wish to retrieve.
If the problem persists, contact us by clicking here and do not forget to indicate the number of the file concerned.
What should I do when I encounter a problem with a downloaded file?
Try to restart the download within a period of 48 hours after purchase via your personal menu on the Vectoriel website. To do so, you must select my “My files” and then “Bought” and click on “Download” under the visual you wish to retrieve.
If the problem persists, contact us by clicking here and do not forget to indicate the number of the file.
After checking by our experts, if it is acknowledged that the file presents a problem, your account will be recredited with the sum you have invested for this visual in the form of free Vecto.
How can I report a file?
To report a file, you must click on the exclamation mark logo positioned under each visual, and on each product sheet. You will then access an e-mail system allowing you to inform us of the nature of the problem encountered.
The Vectoriel experts will then base themselves on the nature of your report to analyse the file. Note: any unwarranted report may lead to total and definitive deletion of your Vectoriel account.
Will there be an invoice for each of my purchases?
When your personal account is credited in Vecto, you receive an invoice drawn up by Vectoriel. The history of these invoices is accessible from your personal menu on the Vectoriel website by clicking on “My Wallet" and then “Vecto Invoices”.
However, when you acquire a user license via your purchased Vecto, you receive proof of purchase drawn up by Vectoriel. The history of these proofs of purchase is accessible from your personal menu on the Vectoriel website by clicking on “My Files” and then "Bought".
Where can I see the history of my downloaded history?
The history of your downloaded files is accessible from your personal menu on the Vectoriel website by clicking on “My Files” and then "Bought".
How are sale prices calculated on Vectoriel?
The sale prices of user licenses available on Vectoriel vary according to four factors (Prices and Licenses):
• The ranking of the artists,
• The type of file,
• Whether or not exclusive rights have been granted to Vectoriel,
• The user license.

A user license tells you what your rights and obligations are regarding the use of files downloaded on Vectoriel.
Several licenses are offered to you on Vectoriel in order to meet all your needs as effectively as possible.

Vectoriel offers three user licenses and two extensions:
• Private License: This is intended for internal communications or strictly personal use.
For print uses: No size limitation.
A few examples of use: Individual personalised T-shirt, textbook rendering illustration, birth announcement, etc
For Web uses: Format limited to 72 DPI and 1000 X 1000 pixels.
A few examples of use: internal PowerPoint presentation for a meeting, intranet illustrations, internal e-mails, etc
• Promotional License: This is intended for all external communications.
For print uses: No size limitation.
A few examples of use: advertising campaigns, 4X3, advertising brochures, press advertisements, leaflets, illustrations for press articles or books, vehicle stickers, advertising pens, etc
For Web uses: Format limited to 72 DPI and 1000 X 1000 pixels.
A few examples of use: advertising banners, promotional e-mails, TV commercials, etc.
The number of copies for this license is limited to 500 000.
• Extension1: This enables the number of copies to be extended to an unlimited number for the promotional license.
This license may not to be available for sale, depending on the author’s choice.
• Extended License: This is intended for direct sale, when a visual is applied directly on a support intended to be sold.
For print uses: No size limitation.
A few examples of use: T-Shirts, mugs, postcards, stickers, book covers, posters intended for sale, etc.
The number of copies for this license is limited to 2 000.
This license may not to be available for sale, depending on the author’s choice.
• Extension 2: This enables the number of copies to be extended to an unlimited number for the extended license.
This license may not to be available for sale, depending on the author’s choice.

Where can I see the balance of my account?
You can consult the balance of your account from your personal menu on the Vectoriel website by clicking on "My Wallet', and then "Situation".

How long are the Vecto I have purchased valid for?
Your purchased Vecto are valid for two years starting from the date of purchase.

I am unable to credit my account in Vecto. What should I do?
Check that your card is accepted by our banking partners.
If you are unable to access the interface enabling you to credit your account, check that your computer supports 128-bit encryption. It is also possible that the administrator of your office or network blocks the port required for the transactions. You may have to ask for a port 443 to be opened on your firewall.

Can I download a model?
Yes. You can download a low-resolution watermarked model free of charge for all files on the site. To do so, you must click on the "Download a model" logo which can be seen on all the product pages.

How is a model used?
Using Vectoriel watermarked models allow you to explore different avenues of work. They may in no case be used in your final productions. You must acquire the appropriate user licenses for each of the visuals you wish to retain in your final work.

What are the formats of the models available on Vectoriel?
Models are downloadable in JPEG format with 72dpi resolution and a maximum size of 400 X 400 pixels. To prevent theft and protect artists’ work, they are all watermarked.

Can I resell a file as it is to a customer?
No. You may in no case download a file from Vectoriel and resell it directly to a customer. You can only sell work produced by you from a file on the Vectoriel site (poster, template, T-Shirt, etc.). Your customer may in no case extract the file from your work to reuse it. If he wishes to use this file for another purpose, he must acquire the appropriate user licenses.

How can I offer my files for sale?
You do not sell your files but mandate Vectoriel to grant user licenses for your files to other Vectoriel members in its name and on your behalf. You thus remain the sole owner of your works.
To be able to offer your files on the Vectoriel website, you must create an account for yourself.
Once your registration has been validated, you can upload the resources you wish to submit on the Vectoriel website from your personal menu by clicking on "My files" and then “Upload a file”.

What types of files are accepted by Vectoriel?
Vectoriel currently accepts three types of files:
• Vector illustrations in EPS format compatible with Adobe Illustrator 8.0 to 10.0©.
• Photos in JPEG format.
• Illustrations in JPEG format.

Are the files I submit automatically placed on line?
No. The visuals submitted must comply with Vectoriel’s technical criteria and its ethics. If they do not, files may be rejected or deleted from the Vectoriel website.

How long does it take for submitted files to be accepted or rejected on Vectoriel?
The time taken to accept files submitted on Vectoriel varies from instantaneous acceptance to three working days after indexing. However, this period may be exceeded if Vectoriel encounters exceptional technical problems or an overload of submissions.

What language should I use to index my works?
You must index your files in the language you choose at the time of your indexing on Vectoriel. Thanks to our automatic translation system, your files will be able to be found whatever the language used by Internet users out of the languages available.
If you use a language different from that chosen at the time of your indexing, your files will be incorrectly referenced and will be more difficult for Internet users to find. You will thus reduce your visibility on the Vectoriel website.

Can a file accepted by Vectoriel be deleted later?
Yes. A file accepted by Vectoriel may be removed from the Vectoriel website. Each member may report abuse if a file poses a technical or moral problem. The file is then checked by Vectoriel’s experts who will decide whether or not to delete it from the site.
In the event of deletion of one of your files, you will receive a message from Vectoriel informing you of this.

I am unable to submit my file on Vectoriel. What should I do?
Check that the format of the files you are trying to submit is accepted by Vectoriel. For information, Vectoriel currently accepts three types of files:
• Vector illustrations in EPS format compatible with Adobe Illustrator 8.0 to 10.0©.
• Photos in JPEG format.
• Illustrations in JPEG format.
We also advise you to follow our submission training.

As soon as one of your files is downloaded by a Vectoriel member, your personal Vectoriel account will be credited in Vecto with the amount owed to you. You will be able to cash these Vectos once you have reached 71 Vecto in earnings.

I have moved up the ranking: how can I increase the price of my files already online?
To increase your prices, and thus your percentages, go to your personal menu and click on the “My Files” section and then “Online” and then the “Increase Price” link. You must then validate a new identity card for each of your files uploaded subsequently, which will allow you to apply your new price rates.
